Matias Corrêa is a singer and contrabass player. He has recorded with artists such as Zélia Duncan, Ney Matogrosso, Joyce, Zeca Pagodinho, Mart’nalia, Monica Salmaso, and Cassia Eller, among others. As a contrabass player, he’s a member of the Choro na Feira group; the “Orquestra Corações Futuristas”, directed by composer Egberto Gismonti; singer and pianist Delia Fischer’s band; and the Orquestra Revelia. As a singer, he’s a member of the vocal sextets BeBossa and Ordinarius. In 2009 and 2010, he co-directed the “Orquestra de Sopros da Pro Arte” with Raimundo Nicioli.
He has released four CD’s as a member of Choro na Feira; the CD/DVD “Músicas para saudar Jorge Amado” with Orquestra Revelia; and the CD’s “BeBossa” and “A Galeria do Menescal” with BeBossa.
He sang in the choirs of two concerts: “Sinfonia do Rio de Janeiro”, from composer and conductor Francis Hime; and “Sinfonia da Alvorada”, from composer Antônio Carlos Jobim. Recently, as a contrabass player, he performed in the shows “Elis, a musical”, directed by Dennis Carvalho; “Chacrinha, o musical”, directed by Andrucha Waddington; and “Rock in Rio, o musical”, directed by João Fonseca, among others.
