Mateus Xavier is a percussionist, teacher and arranger. Member and assistant director of "Bloco do Passo" and director and coordinator of "Bloco do Sargento Pimenta" e "Bloco Pipoca e Guaraná", he is also a member of the bands CRIA and Ordinarius.

Graduated from UNIRIO as a Bachelor of Music in Brazilian Popular Music, Mateus teaches in the undergraduate program in Music of the Brazilian Conservatory of Music, in Eleva School, and has in his curriculum the collaboration with several artists as percussionist. He has already toured Brazil and abroad and worked with musicians such as Carlos Malta, Kiko Horta, Paulão 7 cordas, Marcílio Lopes, Pedro Miranda, Eduardo Lopes, Ary Sperling, among many others. He participated in all Ordinarius CDs and several concerts and other recordings.
